Affected Receivers

PacketFlux has made numerous editions of the SyncPipe and SyncBox products over the years. The following sections outline the affected devices and provide links to relevant information for each type.

PacketFlux SyncBoxes

SyncBoxes manufactured from December 2017 to June 2020 and are marked with "Revision J" contain the software bug which causes this failure. They are likely to become unstable after the rollover event until they are power cycled or self-reset, unless they are connected to a device which disables the GLONASS constellation.

All SyncBoxes which were manufactured after June 2020 and are marked with "Revision K" or a later letter (such as "L") are able to receive the GLONASS signal, but contain a later version of the firmware which doesn't contain the rollover bug. As a result, these receivers should not be affected by a GLONASS rollover.

Early SyncBoxes manufactured prior to December 2017 will also not be susceptible to the rollover issue as the receivers they were shipped with were not capable of receiving the GLONASS signal. These should all be marked on the serial number label with a revision starting with the letter I, or an earlier letter in the alphabet (such as H).

PacketFlux SyncPipes

All SyncPipe products will not be affected by the GLONASS rollover. These units were shipped with various GPS-only receivers. As none of these products are able to receive the GLONASS signal, none of them will be affected by the rollover.

Note that the SyncPipe products were all shipped in a round 2" PVC pipe enclosure. If your unit is in a PVC pipe, it's a SyncPipe, not a SyncBox.
